Cable Railing Systems
Varying styles with framework made of hardwood, painted steel and stainless steel.
Some suggestions when considering cable railing systems.
Stainless Steel Cable Railing System
Cable railing systems offer unique advantages over other handrail types. Not only do they do the job of providing safety to the individual, they are the least visible of all the types of railing that can be utilized. Decorative iron, aluminum, and wooden railing systems also have that old familiar 'stick' look whereas the cable rail system is sleek. Stainless steel posts and hardware are an attractive choice, but a cable system can be also attached to properly mounted wood posts and other types of support. Always talk to your installer before planning this type of system. There are many things that have to be accomplished during construction before the first cable is strung. Also, the posts and attachment points must be of a type and size approved by the manufacturer to ensure compatibility and optimum performance. We can help you with planning your system from the first thought through completion.
Why not buy a pre-fabricated system?
If you have been searching online, you have noticed packages that can be made and shipped to you for installation by yourself of your contractor. Many of these companies require you to send drawings to them, and then wait for them to fabricate the product before sending. Well, in the meantime, something came up to change the deck or stair measurements. Now what? They don't fit anymore. This is a common occurrance. If the deck gets bigger and you try to spread out the post spacing, it could very well cause a failure in code compliance, as each manufacturer of cable railing system has maximum spacing requirements on their posts and intermediate supports.
We can come to your local property ( if within a 100 mile radius of Charleston, SC ) and take our own measurements. If you need to make a design change, we can adjust, since we fabricate our own structural components. Also, you have the option of having your carpenter crew do some of the work to save money (installation of wood posts if you prefer ), and we can drill and install the cabling upon their completion. We want our systems to work for you... adaptation is a key factor in accomplishing this!
